On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at approximately 8:05 PM, a traffic stop on Interstate 45 North led to the discovery of over 137 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value exceeding $1.2 million.
Deputy Whitworth of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office initiated the stop at mile marker 121. During the stop, Whitworth deployed his trained canine partner, who promptly alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Upon further inspection, Deputy Whitworth uncovered three suitcases containing the methamphetamine.
The driver, 23-year-old Brittany Ceballos, and her passenger, 24-year-old Michael Juarez, both of Big Springs, Texas, were arrested and charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a First-Degree Felony.
Sheriff Clint McRae stated, “This seizure is a prime example of the critical work our deputies are doing every day to protect our community from the devastating impact of illegal drugs. We are committed to keeping our communities safe and removing dangerous substances from our streets,”.
